Holiday Edition: From Village Visits to Christmas Feasts

My name is Muyisa Sandton Samuel. I am in primary seven crane. A holiday is a period of time when we are not at work or school, before I went for my holidays, I ended the term quite well and got a first grade though it was not that good, I believe that I will do it better with aggregate 4 in my P.L.E.

When I went for holidays, I spent my Christmas at my grandparents home in Kawaala with my family after going to church on Christmas day.

And I loved boxing day because my mum bought us gifts, I got new clothes and a new phone. The next day my uncle took me and my other relatives out to Imperial Beach at Entebbe near Lake Victoria.

I enjoyed at that place because we ate good food and drinks and we danced and played on the bouncing castles. Though we came back home late, we enjoyed the day. The next day towards new year, we prepared fire crackers that we were going to use when fireworks start. When that time reached, fireworks started and they looked like flowers in the sky, we then started our fire crackers

After that incident, the next day we went back home in Kiira, the next day we went to church and prayed to God to bless us with a wonderful year and to help me in whatever I do in order to get aggregate four in my P.L.E and to bless my parents with money to take care of us.

My name is Lagum Claire Pepetra. I am in primary seven crane. A holiday is a period of rest from school or work. My holiday was really fan because I didn’t want it to end fortunately, we had to come back to school for our final primary year. Immediately I went home, I went shopping with my cousin Laura and my aunt for our birthday party which was the next day. We decorated the house at night and had our party the next day. I went to Gulu two weeks later to celebrate Christmas.

When we reached, we started to decorate the house and I visited my grand parents on 22nd December when I was told my dog Parker had given birth, it was really good news to me because I am a dog lover. In a way Christmas morning came, a bright sun ray spread across my room as I woke up with Christmas excitement.

My aunt picked me up for church with my cousins along. We had a lot of fun at Watoto Church singing, dancing and praying, when we went home, we were welcomed by the most delicious scent in the kitchen which meant lunch time. After eating, we went outing as a family.

Finally, school time came and we had to come back to school. And that is how my holiday was but now I am in St. Catherine Junior School “A home away from home”.

My name is Nabachwa Verite Maxiencia. I am in primary seven crane. A holiday is a period of rest from work and school.

My 2023 ended well, I was so happy to be candidate the next year, I spent my holiday with my family. On the first day, I cleaned my suit case.

During my holiday, I had both good and bad moments. My worst moment was when my puppy died while best moments were when both my parents bought new cars and when we found a tortoise in our garden.

Another interesting moments were when our aunties from Kenya came to our home to enjoy new year with us. We visited a hotel called Mestile where Azawi held a live concert.

When we arrived, Azawi was warming up and the food was to be served at 7pm. So, we just toured around the places because it also had residences as we were touring and taking pictures, we found Azawi, who was leaving and was later coming back to give me her photograph.

When it came to time for eating, we went to serve our selves but I swear I knew none of the foods so I just ate deserts. I really enjoyed my holiday because I met Azawi.
