A tour is journey that you make for pleasure, leisure and study. Here at St. Catherine, we have study tours yearly every term two, we recently went for a tour and visited places like Sipi falls, Semei Kakungulu memorial site, Soroti fruit factory and Nyero Rock Paintings etc. My best tour place was Sipi Falls. Why? The view, the scenery and many others. People enjoyed at Sipi Falls, since Sipi falls was a rainy area, we found mud so many people fell, slid and tripped, but guess what, the children were not angry at all.
Secondly, our teachers did a good job protecting us, teaching and having fun with us. As we were returning, we saw planes landing at Soroti Flying School.
Lastly, I want to thank the director, head teacher, principle and teachers for everything they could do to make this tour epic. Most especially, I thank my parents for paying for me to go on a tour. If it wasn’t for the payment, I wouldn’t have had fun with my friends.
Obviously, who wouldn’t thank God, He protected us. Oh! Lord, I thank you a lot. What an epic study tour this was!

We had a tour to Eastern Uganda for three days which took from 23rd July, 2024 to 25th July, 2024.
We travelled to many places including Mabira Forest, Lugazi Sugar Corporation of Uganda Limited, Sipi falls, Nyero Rock Paintings, Soroti fruit factory. We travelled to all these places by bus which was very fun and interesting because the driver tuned for us interesting music which helped to keep us alert.
The reason for our trip to Eastern Uganda was to help us be confident of what we learn at school and also acquire practical skills at the trip while at the trip.
While at the trip, we learnt many interesting things for example at the Soroti fruit factory where we learnt many things like machines used when processing juice eg in the production section, Centrifuge machine.
Helps to remove the bitter taste in the that is produced from orange seeds when squeezed from other machines.
On the other hand, the most exciting part was about the beautiful accommodation services we got and the twenty steps we took in Kenya. In addition, and the only two words we there “Habari’’ then we say “Mzuri” What a wonderful trip it was!

Sipi falls! Sipi falls!
A place of wonders,
Water from the skies,
Land in stream,
For I have never seen such.
Sipi falls! Sipi falls!
A place of uniqueness,
One may think it is edited,
Its flow is overwhelming,
Its flow so drastic,
I have never felt the same.
Sipi falls! Sipi falls!
Or should I call it Epic falls,
Wonderful scenery but difficult to see,
Muddy during rainy seasons,
One may get an accident,
But it gives one a life lesson.
When you fall, you will always stand up and move on

A trip is a journey to a place and back again for a short time for pleasure. We spent three days at the trip. From 23rd to 25th.On 23rd July is when we started our journey and our first destination was Lugazi Sugar Company in Lugazi. Its short form is SCOUL. It was started up in 1924.Also it was started by N.K.Mheta. We enjoyed seeing the distillation machine. They were huge and I was all like “WOW” and at the end we took photos there.
Our second destination was at Kibimba Irrigation Scheme. The major crop grown there is rice which was started up in 1972 by the “TILDA SISTERS”. Our third destination was at Semei Kakungulu’s home. He was the first president of Busoga. He died in 1953 and his sister died in 1954.
Our 4th destination was at Sipi falls, it was my best because I saw many bombastic falls by Ayiko, Dorcus and Caleb. I will never forget the flow of the water from up to down.
Our fifth destination was at the border of Uganda and Kenya. I got to test Kenyan rainfall. The people were so friendly.
What a trip it was!

A trip is a journey to a place and back again for pleasure or study. We started our journey at 8:20 am. We used a route through Seeta and the DJ in the bus was playing nice music. In two hours’ time, we reached SCOUL. We learnt many things e.g. the way sugarcanes are propagated and products got from sugarcanes eg sugar. I liked day one of tour because we got a chance to go to Kenya for some thirty minutes.
Sipi Falls was one of my interesting places because of the challenging paths. The waterfall looked so amazing, I learnt that when you fall down, get back up and keep moving.
The last day was interesting, we went to Soroti fruit factory where we were given two bottles of Teju each. We learnt some things like how the Teju is preserved. We then came back to school and we arrived at 10:00pm.

A trip is a journey to a place and back again for a short time for pleasure or for a particular purpose. It was Tuesday morning, when we set off from school for our study trip. From school, we went to Lugazi sugarcane scheme also known as SCOUL. After Lugazi we went to Kibimba Irrigation scheme which grows rice. We went to three places on day one but the most interesting was to Kenya.
On day two, we went to Sipi Falls which was my best place. It was so slippery because we had to climb a range of Mt. Elgon. Many people slid and when we reached the top, it was so beautiful. The next place was Semei Kakungulu’s home then lastly, we went to the supermarket. On day 3, we went to Soroti Fruit Factory, on the way to the fruit factory we saw the flying school. The last place was Nyero rock paintings
We travelled by bus. Our reason for going for a study tour was to learn and apply what our teachers teach us. I enjoyed the journey and the lesson.

A trip is a journey in which you visit a place for a short time and come back. I’d like to talk about the trip I had to Eastern Uganda. The first place we went to was Lugazi sugarcane Estate, apart from sugar they also make biogas, dry ice, electricity and sanitizer etc.
Secondly, we went to Kibimba Rice Irrigation Scheme, the place where my family mostly gets rice from. Thirdly was Semei Kakungulu’s house, where-by he was the first president of Busoga and established British rule in Eastern Uganda. There were many more places but I would like to write the last ones.
We went to juice factory in Soroti which manufactures Teju juice and started on 13th April, 2019. It makes the juice using mangoes and oranges making two thousand one hundred cartons per day. Then the other place was Nyero rock paintings which was a mean of communication during early man’s time. It was gazetted in 1973 under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities and is found in Kumi district.
Lastly, I enjoyed Sipi falls, it was such a long journey while climbing the mountain range, so muddy that some people fell down when climbing. We saw three waterfalls where-by they all looking good. I really thank the school for giving us this trip that we learnt new things and saw new things.
